The Quarterback Card
Each QB has a passing card for each of the 3 different pass attempts, Flat Pass, Short Pass, and Long Pass. Generally, flat pass is the safest option yet goes for the least amount of yards, short passes are more difficult to complete but average a higher number per completion, and long passes are difficult to complete but are the highest reward when they do.
On every pass attempt, 50% of the rolls refer to the Defense Card while 50% refer to the QB card. When the QB card is referred to, the computer first checks whether the defense was Guessed Right, Guessed Wrong, or the intended Receiver was double-teamed. Then a simulated dice roll takes place (2d6) and result is found in the corresponding row and column.

Blank - Incompletion
Yardage Figure - Completion for the specified yardage
Yardage Figure (2nd Yardage in Parentheses) - The first number is ignored and the second number is used plus a second die roll takes place using Yards After Catch (YAC) chart and the receivers YAC ability.
Short/Long Gain - A second die roll takes place to determine the exact yardage figure of the completion
Receiver - Refer to the same column on the intended receivers card and a new dice roll result
INT - The pass was intercepted at the yardage figure listed
Must run - The QB is forced out of the pocket and a second die roll from the QB’s Must Run column is used
Example: Let’s use Tom Brady’s 2016 card shown above. Let’s assume the play is a Short Pass to Julian Edelman and the Defense has Guessed Wrong. If the QB card is randomly determined to be checked rather than the defense and a roll of 7, Brady has completed the pass for a gain of 12 yards. If the play was for a Long Pass, the play would have been incomplete.
