Reggie Smith blasted 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Tom Glavine tossed a
complete game at Yankee Stadium '41 as the NOLA Contenders III belted the
Spider Creek Tivas 3 by the count of 23 to 2.
Smith was in a groove all day. He lifted one out of the park for a two run
home run in the 4th inning and smacked a three-run homer (his 2nd of the
season) in the 7th inning. NOLA bats were hot in the 6th inning which saw
them plate 6 runs on 5 hits and the 7th inning when they had 7 runs on 6
hits. NOLA banged out 23 hits on the afternoon.
The win went to Glavine(2-0) who allowed 2 runs in the game. Don Sutton(0-1)
was tagged with the loss. He served up 4 gopher balls in 3 and 2/3 innings.
