Ed Delahanty left the yard and had 4 RBI at Griffith Stadium '24 as the Why 2k
pulled off a dramatic comeback beating the ny sluggers by the count of 8 to
7.
Why erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning with 2 runs using 3
hits. Willie Keeler led off and he slapped a single. Larry Bowa stepped up
next and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Billy Hamilton then doubled
resulting in a run. Delahanty was up next and he doubled resulting in an
exciting win for Why and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town
fans. Why won despite being out-hit by ny 11 hits to 6.
Joakim Soria(1-2) went 2/3 of an inning allowing no runs for the victory. Tug
McGraw(1-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. Why now has a record of a
division leading 20-13. With this loss, ny has a 6-4 record of late, 16-17
overall.
