Ed Delahanty had 4 hits as the Southlake Pioneers 61 defeated the Shakey Town
Quackers 4 to 2 at Forbes Field '41.
Shakey Town never recovered after Southlake took the lead in the bottom of the
5th inning scoring one runner. After two were out Earle Combs hit a
bases-empty home run (his 3rd of the season). Southlake ended up with 11
hits for the game while Shakey Town had 4.
Jose Fernandez(6-5) got the win allowing 2 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings.
Fernandez got help from Billy Wagner who earned his 15th save. Jack
Morris(5-13) suffered the loss. He was touched for 11 hits and 2 walks in 7
and 1/3 innings.
