The Crescent City Royals nipped the KJC Rams 2 to 1 at Yankee Stadium '17 in a
hard fought contest.
Crescent City scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning with the help of 3
hits. Joey Votto led off the inning for Crescent City when he drew a walk.
Kris Bryant was a strikeout victim, unable to help out. Chris Herrmann then
doubled. Ender Inciarte followed and he banged out a single driving in a
run. Jorge Polanco stepped into the box and laced a base-hit scoring the
final run of the inning. KJC had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.
Mike Minor(3-2) went 2 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Kenley
Jansen earned the save, his 4th. Blake Snell(1-2) was the loser. He pitched
6 and 1/3 innings and surrendered 1 hit and 4 walks.
